Missing Some Teeth

What is endodontics?

Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the tooth pulp and the tissues surrounding the root of a tooth, which can include root canal treatment.

What is root canal treatment for?

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that aims to resolve apical periodontitis, which is an infection that can affect the tooth and its surrounding tissues. The aims of root canal treatment are to prevent a new infection from occurring, by killing the bacteria that get inside the tooth, removing the dead tissues inside the tooth, and filling the tooth.

Why has your dentist referred you to our endodontic specialist?

The secret to a long-lasting structure is its foundations. If the foundations are strong, then the structure can stand the test of time. Your teeth need a stable root canal system to be healthy. Root canals are incredibly complicated structures. Minor problems with the root canal systems of teeth can be treated routinely by your general dentist. However, for more serious problems, or if a treatment has failed, your dentist needs to refer you for a further opinion or treatment
